"D'Alessandri almost seems to make light and shade the real subject of his work. The pensive figure might only be a part of the canvas on which he carefully creates each mood. "
Peter D'Alessandri is a figurative Artist based in Essex whose nude studies and portraits have a quality that is rarely seen. With an impressive skill for creating a distinct 'mood' within each painting, D'Alessandri seems to make light and shade the real subject of his work. The pensive figure in each painting might only be a part of the canvas on which he carefully creates these moods.
In 2006, D'Alessandri won first prize at the Braintree Summer Open Art Competition and later on in the year was a finalist in the inaugural Liberte D'Expression competition. We featured several of his paintings in 'After Adam', a group exhibition of male nude studies at the Three Cups Gallery in Ely, Cambridgeshire, early in 2007. Further competition successes in 2008 have confirmed D'Alessandri's industry recognition and we are pleased to feature his work in a forthcoming mixed group show at Courtyard Arts Centre in Hertford later in 2009.
